1 c. shortening 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. white sugar 2 eggs 2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. baking soda 1 c. applesauce 1 c. raisins 2 c. oatmeal Mix in order given. Bake at 325-350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. | |

I made this cookie and found it to have more of a cakelike or sweetbread consistency. After baking one tray, I put the rest in a loaf pan and baked at 350°F for about 35-40 minutes and it made a nice loaf with a slightly dense consistency.
