OVERNIGHT SOUFFLE | |
1 lb. pork sausage 6 slices bread, cubed & without crust 6 eggs, beaten 1 tsp. salt 2 c. milk 1 tsp. dry mustard 1 c. shredded cheddar cheese Brown sausage, drain and crumble. Place bread cubes in a buttered 13"x9" baking dish. Distribute sausage evenly over bread. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and remaining ingredients. Pour egg mixture over bread and sausage. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Preheat oven to 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Bake souffle, uncovered, for 45 to 60 minutes. It should be fluffy and lightly browned. Serve immediately. NOTE: 7 to 8 slices cooked and crumbled bacon or 1 cup cooked and diced ham can be substituted for sausage. 4 to 6 servings. |
