DEE'S GRANDMA'S BISCUITS | |
2 c. sifted all purpose flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1/3 c. Crisco shortening 3/4 c. milk Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in bowl. Cut in Crisco using pastry blender or two knives until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add milk; stir with fork until blended. Transfer dough to lightly floured surface. Knead gently 8 to 10 times. Roll dough 1/2 inch thick. Cut with floured 2 inch round cutter. Bake on ungreased baking sheet for 12 to 15 minutes or bake until golden brown. Makes 12 to 16 biscuits.
