DEE'S STROMBOLE | |
1 lb. frozen bread dough 1 lb. sausage 1/4 lb. boiled or baked ham, sliced 1/4 lb. cooked salami, sliced 1/4 lb. Provolone cheese, sliced 8 oz. Mozzarella cheese, sliced Mustard (specialty mustard) 1 tsp. oregano Chopped onion as desired Thaw bread dough overnight in refrigerator in greased pan. Fry sausage until brown, adding chopped onion and oregano while cooking. Drain well using paper towels. Roll the bread dough to the length and width of cookie sheet. Arrange filling on middle third of dough - down the center lengthwise, in the following order: Sausage, Provolone, Mozzarella, ham and salami. Fold one length of dough over and spread with mustard. Then fold other side up. Seal, and turn so that the 2 thicknesses are on the bottom. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes until golden brown. Double or triple recipe for guests or a crowd. |
