NEW ORLEANS PRALINES | |
1 c. brown sugar 1 c. white sugar 5 tbsp. boiling water 1/2 stick butter 2 c. pecans 1 1/4 tsp. vanilla Place sugars, water, and butter in saucepan over high heat. Boil 2 minutes or until soft ball stage. Remove from heat. Add pecans and vanilla. Beat by hand until mixture becomes creamy and begins to sugar on sides of pan. (It is a good idea to prepare counter top with wax paper, as the candy will harden quickly.) Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper. |
