CARAMEL'S LAYERED SALAD 
1 sm. head of lettuce, chopped
1 c. celery, chopped
1 c. green pepper, chopped
1 med. onion, chopped
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen English peas
2 c. mayonnaise
2 tbsp. sugar
1/4 c. cheddar cheese, shredded
4 slices bacon, cooked

Fry bacon until crisp; set aside. Arrange ingredients in layers starting with the lettuce, celery, green peppers, onion, peas. Spread mayonnaise on top in even layer. Sprinkle sugar on mayonnaise, then sprinkle on cheese and garnish by crumbling bacon and placing on top. Refrigerate for several hours before serving.
