MOUNTAIN SWEET PICKLES 
1 gallon cucumbers
Vinegar
Oil of cloves (can be bought at drugstore)
Sugar

Wash and stem 1 gallon of cucumbers; pack whole in container that will seal air- tight - look at calendar and count ahead 3 months. Leave cucumbers in vinegar until this date (write date on container). Take cucumbers out, slice, and let drain 1 hour. Weigh cucumbers, use the same weight in sugar; mix until sugar dissolves. Add 1 drop of oil of cloves for every 3 pounds pickles; stir well. Keep refrigerated. These are very crisp and delicious!
