HOT AND SPICY SPARERIBS 
3 1/2 lbs. pork spare ribs
2 tbsp. butter
1 med. onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
15 oz. can tomato sauce
2/3 c. cider vinegar
2/3 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. chili powder
1 tbsp. prepared mustard
1/2 tsp. pepper

Melt butter in a large skillet over low heat; add onion and garlic and saute until tender. Add remaining ingredients, except ribs, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Baste meatiest side of ribs with sauce. Place ribs on grill meatiest side down. Baste top side. Close grill and cook for about 20 minutes; turn ribs, and baste. Cook an additional 45 minutes or until done, basting every 15 minutes. Serves 4.
