TOMATO CABBAGE 
3 c. cabbage
3/4 c. boiling milk
4 slices bacon
1 sm. onion, minced
1 c. tomato sauce
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. white pepper
2 tsp. brown sugar

Cut cabbage into shreds. Boil milk and gradually drop in cabbage. Boil for 2 minutes. Drain and discard milk. Dice and saute bacon. Remove bacon from pan and set aside. Saute onion in bacon fat. Add tomato puree, salt, pepper, and brown sugar. Bring sauce to a boil and add the cabbage and bacon. Serve very hot. 6 servings.
