3 c. granulated sugar 1/2 c. light corn syrup 2 tbsp. butter 1 1/2 c. nuts 1 c. sour cream 1/4 tsp. salt 2 tsp. vanilla Combine ingredients in saucepan. Heat over moderate heat until it boils. Stir constantly. Cover and cook slowly 4-5 minutes. Uncover and boil rapidly to soft ball stage, 233 - 238 degrees. Add vanilla and hand beat until candy loses its gloss and begins to hold form. Add nuts and pour into greased pan. Makes 2 1/4 pounds. |
