LOAFER'S FRENCH TOAST | |
1 lb. Monterey Jack 8 slices white bread 4 eggs 1 c. half and half 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 1/2 lbs. peaches, sliced and sweetened to taste Powdered sugar Cut cheese in 1/4 inch slices. In well buttered 9x5x3 inch glass loaf pan, arrange layer of bread slices. Top with layer of cheese. Repeat layers, ending with bread. Mix eggs in bowl. Stir in cream, salt and pepper. Pour over bread and cheese. Bake at 425 degrees for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Cool 10-15 minutes. Loosen edges and invert on serving platter. Surround with peaches. Sprinkle with sugar. Slice and serve. Serves 6. |
