CINNAMON APPLE CAKE WITH
BUTTERMILK SAUCE
 
1 1/2 c. vegetable oil
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 c. plain flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. chopped Granny Smith Apples
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 c. raisins

Mix oil, sugar and eggs. Add dry ingredients. Add remaining ingredients. Mixture will be a heavy dough. Bake 1 hour 45 minutes at 325 degrees in greased and floured tube pan. When done, leave in pan and pour buttermilk sauce over cake. Let cool completely in pan. (You may use oblong pan and bake 1 hour.

BUTTERMILK SAUCE:

1/2 c. buttermilk
1 c. brown sugar
1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix all ingredients and boil 2 minutes. Pour over cake while still in pan
