SOFT CHOCOLATE COOKIES WITH
FROSTING
 
1 egg
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. shortening or vegetable oil
2 squares Baker's chocolate
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Beat egg and brown sugar. Melt together vanilla, shortening, and chocolate. Then add to mixture flour, salt, soda. Then add milk, add it alternately with flour mixture. Add walnuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. Frost while slightly warm.

FROSTING:

3 tbsp. butter
1/4 to 1/8 c. cocoa
1 1/3 c. powdered sugar
1/6 or less c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
