PECAN SURPRISES 
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup ground pecans
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups (12 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips
2/3 cup flaked coconut
2/3 cup finely chopped dried apricots

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine flour, pecans, baking soda and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake at 375°F for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool for 1-2 minutes before removing to wire racks.

Yield: 6 dozen.
