GERMAN APPLE CAKE | |
1/2 tsp. baking soda 2 eggs 1 c. oil 2 c. sugar 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 c. chopped nuts 2 c. flour 1 tsp. vanilla 4 c. thinly sliced apples Mix eggs and oil until foamy and all of oil is mixed in using electric mixer. Add sugar, cinnamon, soda, salt and vanilla; mix well. Add flour - be sure to mix well. Add nut meats and thinly sliced apples to batter. This batter will be very thick. Pour into a lightly greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake for 45 to 60 minutes at 350 degrees. Very good and moist. FROSTING FOR CAKE: 6 - 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, room temperature 1 tsp. vanilla 3 tbsp. melted butter 3 c. powdered sugar Mix well and spread on cooled cake. |
