FRENCH QUARTER SAUCE 
1 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. salad oil
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. lemon juice
3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp. prepared mustard
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Cook onion in hot oil until tender. Add remaining ingredients, simmer uncovered 15 minutes. Makes enough sauce to baste 4 pounds loin back ribs or spareribs.
