CHOCOLATE SNAPPERS 
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
1 egg
1/4 c. light corn syrup
2 sq. baking chocolate, melted
1 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream together sugar and shortening. Add egg, corn syrup, and chocolate; mix well. Add dry ingredients and combine thoroughly.

Roll in balls; dip tops in sugar. Bake until set.

May use 3 tablespoons cocoa and 1 tablespoon melted shortening.
