HARD CANDY 
1 3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. extract
Food coloring

Combine sugar, corn syrup and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat until the mixture reaches 300 degrees on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat, add extract and a few drops of food coloring.

For variety, divide mixture in half and add different extracts and different food colors. Pour onto a marble slab to cool. Cut with scissors or break with a knife into strips. Store in glass jars.
