CHEESE CORN BREAD 
1 2/3 c. flour
3/4 c. yellow cornmeal
3 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 c. grated cheese
1 beaten egg
1 1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. shortening (melted)

Mix dry ingredients, then add cheese. Combine egg, milk and shortening. Turn the liquid into the dry ingredients and stir until just mixed.

Bake in a greased and floured 9x9 inch pan in hot oven (425 degrees) about 35 minutes. Cut in squares and serve hot.
