4 egg whites 1 level c. sugar 1 tbsp. cornstarch 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 1/2 tsp. vanilla FILLING: 1/2 pt. whipping cream (whipped until stiff) Any fresh or canned fruit desired Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff. Add sugar slowly, beating all the time. Add cornstarch with the last of the sugar. Still beating, add vanilla. Line pizza pan with foil, grease and flour it. Spread meringue mix on pan, leaving 1 inch border. Reduce oven to 200 degrees. Place in coolest part of oven. Bake 1 hour. Turn oven off. Cool completely. Cover with cream and fruit. |
