NELLA'S POPPYSEED CAKE 
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. butter flavored Crisco
3 c. sugar
3 c. flour
6 whole eggs
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla flavor
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. butter flavor
1 tbsp. poppyseeds

Soak the poppyseeds in buttermilk overnight. Cream together well, Crisco and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Sift flour, soda and salt. Add to the creamed mixture. Add buttermilk with vanilla, almond extract and butter flavor.

Bake in a greased and floured Bundt pan at 325 degrees for 1-1 1/2 hours. Cool 10 minutes, then remove from pan. This cake is good glazed, with fruit or plain.
