SNICKERDOODLE SUGAR COOKIES | |
1 c. shortening 1 1/2 c. sugar 2 eggs 2 3/4 c. flour 2 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 3 tbsp. sugar & 3 tbsp. cinnamon Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Sift and stir in flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Chill dough two hours. Roll into 1" balls. Press with glass that has been dipped in cinnamon and sugar mixture. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Yield: 3 1/2 dozen. Roll ball into sugar if you want delicious sugar cookies (press with glass to make crispy cookies or leave in ball shape to make soft cookie). These are Leslie's favorite. |
