BLUEBERRY CAKE & FOAMY SAUCE 
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/3 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1/2 c. melted shortening
1 c. milk
1 c. sugar
1 1/2-2 c. blueberries (fresh)

FOAMY SAUCE:

2 tbsp. butter
1/4 stick butter
2 eggs
3/4 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Bake at 350 degrees in 8 x 1 inch baking pan, greased and floured. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Beat eggs until foamy. Add milk and shortening. Add sugar and dry ingredients. Beat to stiff batter. Fold in berries mixed with 2 tablespoons flour. Bake 30-45 minutes.

Sauce: Mix butter, butter and egg yolks. Add sugar and salt. Mix well. Add 3/4 cup hot water, stirring until mixed well. Pour sauce into pan and cook over direct heat until thick, 5 minutes. Remove and add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat egg whites stiff. Add to sauce. Fold in. Will be lumpy. Serve over cake squares.
