BLUEBERRY CAKE & SAUCE 
2 tbsp. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
3/4 c. milk
2 tsp. baking powder
1 3/4 c. flour
1 1/2 c. cut & floured blueberries
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. boiling water
1 tbsp. cornstarch
2 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tbsp. lemon juice
Pinch of nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt (opt.)

Cream shortening. Add sugar, beaten egg and milk. Sift flour and baking powder. Add to other ingredients. Stir in blueberries. Bake in shallow pan at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.

LEMON SAUCE: Mix sugar and cornstarch. Add water slowly and stir. Boil 5 minutes. Add other ingredients.
