RAISIN SPICE OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. soft shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
1 c. raisins
2 c. uncooked Mother's oats

Sift together flour, soda, salt and spices in bowl. Add shortening, sugars, egg and milk. Beat until smooth. Fold in raisins and oats. Drop from teaspoon onto greased baking sheet.

Bake in moderate oven at 375°F for 12 to 15 minutes.

Makes 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
