BAKED RED CABBAGE 
1 med. head red cabbage
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. (1/2 stick) butter
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 c. white wine
2 tbsp. sugar
2 juicy apples
Pinch of nutmeg

Slice cabbage thin, add salt and brown lightly in butter. Add lemon juice, wine and sugar. Transfer mixture to buttered baking dish; cover, simmer on top of stove 15 minutes. Slice apples thin and combine slices with cabbage and nutmeg. Bake in preheated oven, 375 degrees until apples and cabbage are tender. This is delicious served with roast chicken, duck or goose. Serve 4 to 6.
