8 egg yolks, beaten
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. raisins
1 c. flaked coconut
1/4 to 1/2 c. bourbon
1/2 c. chopped maraschino cherries

Combine first 3 ingredients in a 2-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened, about 20 minutes. Remove from heat, and stir in remaining ingredients. Cool mixture completely. Yield: enough for 1 (3 layer) cake.
