KATHLEEN'S MARASCHINO CHERRY
BARS
 
CRUST:

2 c. flour
1 c. softened butter
1/2 c. powdered sugar

Mix together and pat into a 15"x10" jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.

FILLING:

2 eggs + 1 egg yolk
1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. chopped maraschino cherries
1 c. chopped nuts

For filling, beat eggs, add brown sugar, baking powder, flour, cherries and nuts; beat well. Pour over crust and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Cool.

FROSTING: Cream 2 cups powdered sugar and 1/4 cup melted butter. Thin with cherry juice, beating until smooth and spreads easily.
