SAUERKRAUT CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2 c. sifted cake flour
1/2 c. sifted cocoa
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
2/3 c. butter
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. water
1/2 c. sauerkraut, rinsed, drained & coarsely cut

1. Combine flour, cocoa, soda, baking powder and salt.

2. Cream butter; add sugar and cream until fluffy.

3. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well.

4. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with water to creamed mixture, blending smoothly after each addition.

5. Add sauerkraut and mix well.

6. Pour batter into greased pan, 13"x9". Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven about 45 minutes. Cool and frost with fudgy chocolate frosting.
