SAUERKRAUT CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cocoa
1 c. (8 oz.) chopped kraut, drained & rinsed well
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. water

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with water. Bake in greased 9"x13" pan at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.

FROSTING:

6 oz. chocolate morsels
4 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
2 1/2 - 2 3/4 c. sifted powdered sugar

Melt chocolate and butter. Remove from heat and blend in remaining ingredients.
