SWISS STEAK 
2 lbs. round steak, 1 inch thick
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. flour
3 tbsp. shortening
1 minced onion
1 can mushroom soup
1 c. milk

Pound steak and cut into 6 or 8 portions. Rub seasonings into meat. Dredge on both sides with flour. Melt shortening in skillet and brown meat quickly on both sides. Place in baking pan. Pour onion, soup, and milk over meat. Cover baking pan tightly. (Can use aluminum foil.) Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
