MOM'S CHILI 
1 lb. lean pork or ground beef
1 med. onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 (20 oz.) can tomatoes
3 sm. cans mild green chilies
1 shake of oregano
Salt to taste
Pinto beans (optional)

Saute meat, onion and garlic in a little oil. Squeeze tomatoes through fingers to mash. Add to meat mixture along with oregano, salt and chilies. Simmer 35 minutes. Add water, if necessary. Add pinto beans, if desired.

Serves 4-6.
