BAVARIAN APPLE TORTE 
1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour

Cream and place on bottom of torte pan. 1/4 c. sugar 1 egg 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream and spread over bottom layer.

TOP:

1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
4 c. sliced apples, peeled
1/4 c. sliced almonds

Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes, then 400 degrees for 25 minutes.

To serve, remove torte pan sides when cool and serve in pie slices.
