BAVARIAN APPLE TORTE | |
1/2 c. butter 1/3 c. sugar 1/4 tsp. vanilla 1/4 c. sugar 1 egg 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 (8 oz.) light cream cheese 1/3 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 4 c. peeled apple slices 1/4 sliced almonds Cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Blend in flour. Spread dough onto bottom and sides of 9 inch springform pan. Combine softened cream cheese and sugar; mix well. Blend in egg and vanilla. Pour into pastry lined pan. Combine sugar and cinnamon. Toss apples in sugar mixture. Spoon over cream cheese layer; sprinkle with almonds. bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 400 degrees, continue baking 25 minutes. Cool before removing rim of pan. |
