VILA'S PARTY SIZE QUICK AND EASY CHILI | |
This is a great chili to freeze in smaller containers and heat up when you are pressed for time. Recipe may be halved. 4 lb. ground beef (I use extra lean) 2 medium to small onions, chopped 2 green peppers, chopped 4 garlic cloves, chopped 4 (4 oz. ea.) cans sliced mushrooms, undrained 1 (24 oz.) jar thick and chunky salsa, medium or mild 2 (15 oz. ea.) cans diced tomatoes with mild green chilis 4 (10. oz. ea.) cans condensed tomato soup 2 pkgs. mild or medium chili seasoning mx 2 tbsp. chili powder 1 (15 oz.) can pork and beans 6 (15 oz. ea.) cans kidney beans, undrained Brown ground beef, onions, green peppers and garlic in large stock pot, cook until tender. Note: If you do no use extra lean ground beef, and must drain the beef, then do not add the onions, garlic or green peppers until after you have drained the meat, then cook them until tender. Add mushrooms, salsa, tomatoes, and tomato soup to meat mix and stir together. Add packaged chili seasoning mix and chili powder to ingredients in the stock pot and mix well. Add the pork and beans and kidney beans to ingredients in the pot and mix well. Simmer mixture for 20 to 30 minutes, to blend flavors. Makes 2 or more gallons of chili. Submitted by: Vila Deuel |
