HOMEMADE ICE CREAM (OLD-TIME) 
1 pt. milk
2 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 pt. heavy cream
Milk

Mix first 5 ingredients in 2 quart pan. Cook until mixture thickens enough to coat spoon. Add 1 1/2 cups sugar and 3/4 pint heavy cream. Pour mixture into ice cream freezer. Finish filling freezer with milk. You can add fresh fruit in season when mixture is about frozen. Makes 1 gallon.
