RAISIN NUT COOKIES 
2 c. raisins
1 c. water
1 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. nuts, chopped

Simmer raisins in water 5 minutes. Cool. Cream butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Beat until light. Add dry ingredients. Add cooled raisins and liquid. Blend well. Add nuts. Drop by teaspoonsful on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes.
