NEVER FAILS PIE CRUST 
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. vegetable shortening
1 egg, beaten
1/3 c. cold water
1 tbsp. vinegar

Mix flour and salt; cut in shortening. Combine remaining ingredients and stir into shortening mixture. Let stand a few minutes. Roll dough on floured board to desired thickness.

Makes 4 (9-inch) pie shells.

With leftover, make SNAILS. Roll out; spread with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll up like a jelly roll. Slice and bake at 375°F for 12 minutes or until brown.
