MACARONI AND SAUSAGE CASSEROLE 
1 (8 oz.) pkg. elbow macaroni
1 lb. bulk pork sausage
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. green pepper strips
3 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. milk
2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese

Brown sausage in pan. Cook elbow macaroni and drain. Remove half the sausage. Saute onion and peppers with remaining sausages. Stir in flour and salt. Slowly add milk, stir until thick. Stir in half of cheese. Add macaroni and pour into greased 2 quart casserole.

Top with other 1/2 of cheese and reserved sausage. Bake in 400 degree oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown. 6 servings.

Tried this last night...suitable dish for ages 2-6. Boring and bland for anyone older, even with the addition of Tabasco and Worcestershire.

Hi Katy,

Feel free to kick it up a bit with some minced garlic and hot pepper flakes, perhaps using a sharper Cheddar or a different kind of cheese. Most importantly, always taste and adjust seasonings before serving and you will never need to suffer a bland dish ever again!
