CARAMEL SQUARES 
1/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. sifted plain flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. caramel syrup
1/4 c. chopped nuts

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Sift together all dry ingredients. Add to cream mixture. Mix with syrup. Add nuts. Pour into a greased and floured 9"x9"x2" pan. Bake at 300 degrees for about 20 minutes. Let cool in pan, cut into squares.
