1 c. plus 3 tbsp. unsifted flour 1 c. oats, uncooked 3/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 3/4 c. butter, melted 1 (12.25 oz.) jar caramel ice cream topping 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips 1/2 c. chopped walnuts Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, combine 1 cup flour and next 5 ingredients; beat at low speed until well mixed. Pat evenly into an 13 x 9 inch ungreased baking pan. Bake 10 minutes. Meanwhile, stir caramel topping and remaining 3 tablespoons flour until well mixed. Remove pan from oven. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over crust evenly, then the walnuts. Drizzle the caramel mixture on top. Return to oven and bake 20 to 25 minutes more or until brown. Cool before cutting. Cut into 36 bars. (About 105 calories each.) |
