VERY GOOEY SHOO-FLY PIE 
CRUMBS:

1 c. flour
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. vegetable shortening or cooking oil

LIQUID:

1 egg
1 c. table molasses
1 tsp. baking soda mixed with 1 c. boiling water

Mix the flour, brown sugar, and shortening or oil to make crumbs. Reserve 3/4 cup crumbs for topping.

Mix well the egg, molasses, baking soda and boiling water. Add remaining crumb mixture. Mix and pour into a 9-inch pie shell. Put the reserved 3/4 cup crumbs on top. Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees and 25 minutes at 350 degrees.
