BUTTERSCOTCH SQUARES 
1/2 c. butter (or shortening or vegetable oil)
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. nuts

Melt butter and sugar. Blend well. Add eggs, one at a time and mix thoroughly. Add vanilla and dry ingredients which have been sifted together. Pour in a greased 9 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
