2 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. corn syrup
1/2 c. water
2 egg whites
Chopped nuts, as needed
1 tsp. vanilla

Bring sugar, corn syrup and water to boil in saucepan. Mix, but do not stir over medium heat. Stiffly beat egg whites. Add sugar mixture to egg whites, beating constantly, adding nuts and vanilla as you beat. Pour onto greased platter. Cut with knife dipped in cold water. Option: Add food coloring.
