MARMALADE SQUARES 
2 tbsp. shortening
1/4 c. honey
2 eggs
2/3 c. marmalade
1 c. whole wheat cereal flakes (or substitute)
2/3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder, stir before measuring
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. finely chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 8 inch square pan. Cream sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Stir in honey. Add 1 egg at a time, beating each thoroughly. Stir in marmalade and cereal. Sift flour, baking powder and salt; stir into mixture. Blend well, fold in nuts, spread evenly in pan.

Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool and cut into 2 inch squares. A great after school snack! 16 servings.
