CRANBERRY-APPLE SALAD 
2 (1 lb. each) cans whole cranberry sauce
2 c. boiling water
2 (3 oz.) pkgs. strawberry Jello
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. mayonnaise
2 c. diced apples
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Melt cranberry sauce over low heat, drain reserving liquid and berries. Mix together cranberry liquid, boiling water and Jello - stir until dissolved. Add lemon juice and salt. Chill until mixture mounds slightly on a spoon. Add mayonnaise, beat until smooth. Fold in cranberries, apples and nuts. Pour into 2 quart mold and chill overnight.

Serves 10-12.

This is a staple at Thanksgiving in our family. We call it Aunt Bonnie's pink stuff. When I grew up and started making it myself I was horrified by the mayo in it but you don't taste it. This is sweet and tangy and always a hit!
