BEEF 'N POTATO HOT DISH 
4 c. frozen hash browns, thawed
3 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 lb. ground beef
1 pkg. brown gravy mix
1 c. water
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
1 c. (4 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese
1 can French fried onions

In a quart dish, combine potatoes and oil. Firmly press mixture across bottom and up sides to form shell. Bake, uncovered at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.

In a skillet brown beef and drain. Stir in mixed vegetables, reduce heat to medium, cook 5 minutes. Stir in 1/2 cup cheese and 1/2 can French fried onions, place in potato shell. Bake, uncovered at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Add remaining cheese and onion to top and bake 5 minutes longer.
