MY MOTHER'S CINNAMON ROLLS 
1 c. milk, scalded
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. of yeast dissolved in small amount of warm water
1 egg
3 1/2 c. flour
Melted butter
Sugar and cinnamon mixture

Add scalded milk to sugar, salt and shortening. when lukewarm, add dissolved yeast and egg and stir. Add flour and mix. Let mixture rise until doubled in bulk. Punch down let rise again. Knead dough. Roll into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread with melted butter and mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Roll up like jelly roll and slice off into 1 inch thickness. Place in 13 x 9 baking dish and let rise 30 to 40 minutes. Bake in 425 degree oven about 20 minutes.
