CINNAMON ROLLS | |
1/3 c. melted butter 3 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 c. scalded milk 2 pkg. dry yeast 1 beaten egg 6 c. flour TOPPING: 3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1/4 c. melted butter 2 tsp. cinnamon FROSTING: 1/3 c. soft butter 3/4 box powdered sugar 1 tsp. vanilla Milk Place butter, sugar, salt and milk in large mixing bowl. Let mixture cool to 105 degrees to 115 degrees. Add yeast and mix well. Add beaten egg. Add 3 cups flour; stir with wooden spoon until smooth. Add 2 more cups of flour. When smooth, use remaining cup of flour for kneading. (Only use what is necessary for right consistency.) Butter dough and place in buttered mixing bowl. Cover with linen towel and let rise for about 1 hour. Knead and roll out on floured table. Mix topping ingredients together and spread on rolled out dough. Roll dough as for jelly roll. Cut in 1 inch slices. Place rolls apart in greased pan. Cover and let rise for about 1 hour. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 15 minutes. Frost immediately. |
