CARAMEL APPLE COFFEE CAKE 
2 cans buttermilk biscuits
1 stick (1/2 cup) melted butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. light corn syrup
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 lg. baking apple
Mixture of 2 tbsp. sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon

Melt butter in saucepan. Add brown sugar and corn syrup, blending well. Pour mixture into bottom of 9 x 13 inch cake pan. Chop nuts and sprinkle over butter mixture. Peel and slice apple. Chop apple slices and sprinkle over the chopped nuts. Dip each biscuit into the cinnamon/sugar mixture (one side only). Place the biscuits sugar side down into the pan. Sprinkle over all with remaining sugar. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Invert onto platter. Serves 20.
